As I stepped inside, I was immediately charmed by the ambiance — lush greenery and soft lighting create an inviting backdrop for a culinary adventure. The booths and tables provide a perfect setting for both serious foodies and casual diners alike. The aroma wafting from the kitchen hints at the culinary surprises waiting to be discovered.
One of the standout offerings here is the Vietnamese Spring Roll / Cha Gio, a gluten-free delight that features mixed vegetables, shredded taro, mung beans, and a medley of other fresh ingredients rolled in delicate rice paper. It’s a steal at CA$6.99 and sets the stage for what's to come. For something a little different, try the Golden Bags — crispy fried wontons filled with a harmonious blend of firm tofu, onions, mushrooms, and sweet potato, which tantalizingly burst with flavor each time you bite into them.
The specialty dishes are where Thien Tam truly shines. The Lemongrass Tofu & Veggie Spring Roll (CA$16.99) showcases spicy sautéed tofu alongside fragrant peppers and onions, perfectly paired with a crisp vegan spring roll sauce. A notable favorite is the classic Bun Bi Chay Cha Gio, which brings together the crunch of spring rolls and the delicate texture of vermicelli for a delightful harmony of taste and texture. Each dish tells a story of authenticity and love for the craft of cooking.
Reflecting on my experience, I was particularly taken with how the dishes maintained their integrity without requiring additional seasoning. No need for hot sauce or lime — the food was flavorful enough on its own. As one customer aptly noted, "the food did not disappoint," and I couldn’t agree more. The depth of flavors in every dish was a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to providing an exceptional plant-based dining experience.
While the food is undoubtedly the star of the show, I must mention the friendly service. The staff at Thien Tam are genuinely sweet and accommodating, enhancing the overall delightful dining experience. Minor drawbacks, such as the need for some updates in the restrooms or tidiness in the dining area, didn’t overshadow the fantastic meals we enjoyed. After all, the charm lies in the culinary journey rather than the surroundings.
Whether you're a seasoned vegan or simply someone curious about plant-based cuisine, Thien Tam Asia Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant is a must-visit. Each dish seems to celebrate not just the food itself but the entire experience, making you feel at home. The laughter, flavors, and welcoming environment come together to create a dining experience that is truly memorable. I look forward to my next visit and am excited to explore more of their diverse menu!
Saw this cozy vegetarian and vegan place while strolling in the Junction one night after dinner and decided that I need to give this place a try sometime. The interior is incredibly inviting, with a warm, intimate atmosphere. There are plenty of booths perfect for small groups, but also tables in the middle that can be combined to accommodate larger gatherings. The food was absolutely delicious. Our server was cheerful and friendly, adding to the overall wonderful dining experience. She was also able & willing to split the food bill amongst us and charge us our drinks individually. That was a pleasant surprise! Definitely a must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful plant-based meal in a charming setting!
Amazon food! Lots of vegan options! Authentic taste and atmosphere! The plants really lift up the vibe! The staff is sweet
Great food and wonderful server. Didn't have to alter with hot sauce, lime nor vinegar. I would certainly go back if I can.
5/5 for food. Recommend the green curry and crispy rolls appetizer. Everything was delicious. I’ll definitely come back for more! The bathroom needs an upgrade (warmer light and better paint job) and clean thoroughly though (Under seat). General restaurant area can be tidy up. So only 4 stars for atmosphere.
The food did not disappoint especially coming from far. As usual, I ordered too much so we have enough leftovers for later and tomorrow. Ordered 9 dishes because it took over an hour to get there so we had to make it worth our while. Flavour is good. Love the char and wok hei on the noodle dishes. Service was a little slow so leave enough time. When the food started coming, they all came quickly. We didn’t have enough space on our table. So we had to eat quickly to make space.
Authentic vegan food, vegetarian options were also there on the menu. Good quantity and value for money. The place is clean and have Vietnamese vibes. The place is very big and can accommodate many people, it wasn't so busy when we went there but I guess it might not be a problem even if it is busy because it's large. I hope they Play music as well. The staff were sweet, I asked them for warm water and they got the water in a cute flask full of water. The food was yummy. Couldn't finish full , so got the leftovers with me. Overall, I had good experience there. Would like to visit again.
MUST GO!! One of the best thai/Viet places to eat at. The drunken noodles were bomb and also the golden dumplings were crispy. The server was SO polite. The interior itself is culturally rich
What a wonderful experience, my girlfriend and I went here for a late lunch/early dinner. The place felt like a classical Asian restaurant with an older style. Hieu (pronounced like star Hugh Jackman) was an incredible server, very upbeat and positive and endlessly helpful. We order vietnamese iced coffee which tasted lovely but a bit bitter, coconut water which came in bottle, Banh Xeo, and fried oyster mushrooms. The Bun bo Hue was flavorful and enjoyable with decent vegan meat, The Banh Xeo was incredibly fresh and had a perfectly cooked crepe and vegan meat that made every bite enjoyable, The fried oyster mushrooms were lightly crunchy with a thin batter but not too oily and were perfectly done. That plus the sauce made them really enjoyable through the whole meal!
